From the Adelaide Hills, this wine offers ripe fruit aromas and flavours but with darker fruit characteristics than that of its Italian counterpart, similar to the Heritage Selection Sagrantino. More black cherry as opposed to raspberry and riper red fruit flavours. Substantial but very fine grain tannins, complimented well by the acid to produce an intense all round mouth-feel. Review from Tony Love, The Advertiser 30/01/2013: Another southern Italian which has migrated well to Australia, cramming in a load of action that seems to reflect its new home – dusty, herby, full-bodied, dark-fruited and a ball of vinous energy. It’s showing a fair bit of grip-through fine and ripe, and has a good, refreshing bite in the finish that suits the summer table groaning with fresh vegies and fruits. Best paired with pasta dishes, particularly rich meat ragu.

The Heritage Selection Range represents varieties originating from Central and Southern parts of Italy. They are classic wines that show big velvety tannins, high acidity and red fruits. This Range is designed for those big traditional hearty Mediterranean dishes. See more from our Heritage Selection Range here.
