Amadio Shiraz wins Blue-GoldWe have the pleasure in announcing that the 2007 AMADIO Adelaide Hills Shiraz WON a BLUE-GOLD Medal in the 2009 Sydney International Wine Competition.
This most prestigious event, where our Shiraz has been distinguished in the top 10 percent of the total entries and having also being judged with food, highlights the excellence that this single vineyard wine represents.

"The competitiveness in this international competition is intense, and to be recognised as a Gold Medal Winner is outstanding, but receiving a Blue-Gold Medal, that is simply rewarding," commented Winemaker Danniel Amadio.

The 2007 vintage, with its deep red colour and intense purple hues displays hints of raspberry, plum and Christmas spices on the nose that come together to highlight its irrefutable intensity. The evidence of this is highlighted on the palate as flavours of sweet forest fruits, mulberry and blackberry intermingle with soft hints of vanilla and leather from the oak to deliver this highly regarded Shiraz. It has certainly proven its reputation with a 5 Star and 91/100 rating from James Halliday in his 2010 Australian Wine Companion, a very impressive score!

The acclaimed 2005 Vintage also took Gold, wining three Gold medals including a Blue-Gold and Top 100 at the 2007 Sydney International Wine Competition, and Gold at the 2006 Cowra Wine Show. Its the cool-climate terroir of the Amadio Adelaide Hills vineyard that makes all the difference. The success of these accolades saw the 2006 vintage sell out in under three months, so that wait to enter the 2009 competition was worth its wait in Gold . . . BLUE-GOLD that is!!!
